And we cannot fail to mention banh chung, a dish with a strong cultural identity, a symbol of reunion and gratitude to ancestors.
📜 Origin of Banh Chung: According to legend, during the Hung King period, Banh Chung was created by Prince Lang Lieu to present to his father the king during the ceremony to choose a successor to the throne. The image of the square Banh Chung symbolizes the earth, with green bean paste, pork and sticky rice wrapped in green dong leaves, representing the connection between humans and nature, respect for ancestors and the desire for a warm and full life.
🔥 Banh Chung - a gift from heaven and earth: For generations, Banh Chung has always been an indispensable dish on the Vietnamese New Year's tray. Each cake is carefully wrapped, cooked in a warm fire in the cool spring air, a reminder of traditional values, reunion and family affection.
